It does little to convince us to do anything besides delete them. Now, if they picked up the phone and called, we just might consider it (if it was a good fit for our site). What site owners need to remember (and what we tell our clients) is that getting links isn't just getting links, it's relationship building. And you can't build a relationship on an e-mail that could just as easily be mistaken for spam. We get junk e-mails like this all the time, too.
