The Challenge

• Grow site traffic and Increase search engine rankings for Toronto Employment Lawyer and related searches.
• Obtain local search rankings within the existing 3-pack of rankings.
• Optimize the existing website’s site architecture, content, and grow link popularity.
• Create a newsletter template that meets branding objectives.
• Design and customize a WordPress based blog and transition from the previous Typepad blog.

The Solution

• Created and executed a site migration plan from the previous Typepad blog to the new WordPress blog. Preserved all URLs and rankings in the process.
• Optimized local business listings to rank for multiple competitive keywords related to ‘employment lawyer’, ‘wrongful dismissal lawyer’ and associated terms.
• Designed a newsletter according to best practices that is compatible with 99.9% of all email programs.
• Designed and customized the WordPress blog to meet branding objectives, ported content from the Typepad blog and optimized On-Page SEO factors.

The Results

Over the course of 3 months, Whitten & Lublin’s blog rose in the search engines from result #40 to #5 on the first page after the blog was migrated to wordpress and optimized for on-page SEO factors. The main website continues to rank #1 for the most relevant keywords such as ‘toronto employment lawyer’, and initial local search optimization also yielded a placement in the local search 3-pack. Current efforts are being focused into breaking the 3-pack into a 7-pack of results by encouraging reviews and building further industry oriented web citations.
